the most important lessonWhen I first started out as an entrepreneur, I was lucky enough to be introduced to some amazing mentors. One man, by the name of Jim Rohn, played a huge influence in my personal philosophy.

Today, I’d like to share one of his most important lessons. It’s a lesson, I think; this country needs now more than ever…

The Difference Between Communism And Capitalism

Mr. Rohn would start by saying, “Everyone should appreciate the difference between communism and capitalism. For the last 75 years communism taught capital belongs in the hands of the state, not in the hands of the people.”

You and I both know – that’s ridiculous.

Capital belongs in the hands of the people, not in the hands of the state. He said, “Communism taught individual people are too dumb and stupid to know what to do with capital. You have to take it away from all the dumb stupid people and give it to the all-wise, all-knowing state. Let the state run everything , and let the dumb stupid people show up for their work assignment.”

That was communism. No wonder they’ve devastated everything they’ve touched.

“Communism taught all glory to the state, the individual doesn’t matter. We’ve taught all these years it’s the individual that matters. Let the state be the servant of the individuals, not the individuals the servant of the state.”

I’m so glad I had that philosophy embedded in my brain. But I’m troubled because these past couple years it has become obvious…

The Majority Of Americans Want Communism

It was less than 30 years ago we fought and fought for the American dream – the idea that, with a vehicle like capitalism anyone could accomplish anything.

But – every day the people are voting for a little more taxation so things are “taken care of” for them. Many casual bar-room conversations seem to end up in “well, I don’t mind if they tax a little more so I get my health care taken care of” or, “Why don’t they just take a little more taxes out to pay for my schooling?”

More and more, this idea of “you handle it” is taking hold.

But this is exactly the beginnings of a communist society – and the people freakin’ want it!! …And this complete turn-around in philosophy in less than 30 years!!!

Now, I understand. It’s nice sometimes to have things taken care of. I’m sure you are like me some days where you just want to hang up your entrepreneurial hat and get a job stocking shelves at Target. Tell the world to go to hell and leave me alone!

But how long can any of us live that way? At what point do we decide “I should be in control of my destiny.”

This is what it really comes down to…

Our Fate

Is it pre-determined? Should it be?

If you take a look at where I grew up and the people I surrounded myself with, my fate should’ve been prison or dead. But because I had the power to decide what I wanted for my life, and enough freedom to go after it – I was able to completely turn my life around and help tens of thousands of others do the same!

Does the average person really want to be told what to do, how to live, what to eat, what to think!?

I am having such a hard time fathoming the philosophy that says “my life is in your hands, do anything you want with it, I just don’t care.”

Maybe it’s because our entire society is drugged into some catatonic state.

Maybe it’s because we’ve been brainwashed into thinking we are too stupid and dumb to handle anything on our own.

Maybe it’s because we owe China so much money they’ve actually taken over the U.S. government and convinced us that communism is Super-Awesome-America-Number-One!!

Whatever it is, I hope people wake up soon… Because they all tell me that the American dream is no more.

The Dream…

Where people could come from around the world with just the clothes on their back and build a life for themselves.

A place, where your destiny was for you to decide, where you could work hard and one day own property, create a business, marry a big-breasted woman (or man, if that’s your thing), buy the coolest new technology and have all the kids you want…

But… you don’t own your property… your business – well, obviously the government built that… the taxes on implants put them out of reach… if you read my last article Take Our Guns, But You’ll Never Take… Our Cell Phones!, even your electronics aren’t yours… and well, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before and start condemning baby girls to death…

Ok – maybe that last part is a bit extreme (oh, wait…).

A Final Thought (Or Rambling – for you to decide)

I don’t know about you, but every time I pose a question, it leads to a million more questions.

I’m not sure they’ll ever be answered but – at what point did people start saying this is OK? Did we even have a choice? Does the average Joe see this as Communism? Socialism? Could they explain the difference?

Why aren’t there more people who lived in Communist societies warning us about the dangers? Am I the only one who’s thinking this way? Is it true that if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em? Will this be the end of Batman?
