A wall poses risks to individual liberty, so it’s time to think about setting up a second residency or citizenship before it’s too late.
The construction of Trump’s wall along the southern border of the U.S. continues to gain momentum. The latest news is that the Pentagon is reallocating $1 billion to help build the wall.
Keeping illegal immigrants out of the country is a good goal, if for no other reason than to reduce crime. After all, people who break the law to enter a country are more likely to break the law once they’re inside the country.
But is a wall the best way of stopping illegal immigration?
Here’s the thing about walls: They are effective at keeping people OUT… but… they are also effective at keeping people IN.
If you are surrounded by walls, are you really free? Aren’t you just a prisoner with the illusion of freedom?
This Threat is Bigger than Trump
The wall Trump builds will last long after his presidency is over. So it does not matter whether Trump uses the wall to keep Americans inside the U.S. or not.
Why? Because all that’s required is just one president with tyrannical tendencies to put the country on lockdown.
And evidence suggests Trump might even be the guy to do it!
You might think I’m fear-mongering, but I promise you I’m not. It is clear Trump doesn’t want people leaving the U.S. Let me prove it to you…
Trump Threatens Companies Who Leave U.S.
Trump is on the record threatening companies who leave the U.S. One headline, for example, reads:
Yes, this headline is about businesses and corporations. But it’s not much of a leap from threatening companies who leave the country to threatening individuals who leave the country.
And that’s a scary thought.
Just imagine going to Europe for vacation, only to be blocked from re-entering the United States…
Imagine excessive tariffs being placed on international travel to keep most Americans stuck in the lower 48…
Or, worst of all, imagine a moratorium on one-way tickets and international moving companies to try to block Americans from becoming ex-pats.
And, as Trump has already proven, any of these frightening scenarios is literally one Executive Order away.
